It is my pleasure to invite you to the 1994 Image
Understanding Workshop which will be held on the
13 - 16 November at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Monterey, California.
The workshop is planned in conjunction with the Annual
AutomaticTarget Recognizer Science & Technology
Symposium (Secret/NoForeign status) to be held on 16,17 November
at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey.
In addition to the Benchmarking session and the Image Understanding
(IU) Prinicpal Investigator Reports which will be presented on
Monday, 14 November, the program includes presentations of
significant IU technology sponsored by the Software and Intelligent
Systems Technology Office.
Beginning on Tuesday, 15 November, the technical presentations
include Research and Development in Image Understanding Systems
(RADIUS); the Image Understanding Environment (IUE);
Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Target Acquisition (RSTA), and
Automatic Target Recognition. A reception for all attendees of the
workshop is planned for Tuesday evening at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
On Wednesday morning, additional technical reports will be given
by the major institutions.
During the workshop, three state-of-the-art talks on vision
will be given on Learning and Vision (Poggio), Motion Analysis
(Kanade), and Model-based Image Compression (Huang).
