   The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and
the International Association for Geodesy (IAG) cordially invite you to attend
the ISPRS WG I/2, WG II/1, WG III/1, IAG SC4, SSG 1.105 and FIG WG 5.4 joint
workshop.

   The goal of this workshop is to bring together experts from geodesy,
surveying, photogrammetry and remote sensing to discuss the problem of sensor
orientation. Also, because of the complexities of designing and integrating
software systems for the purposes of data capture and analysis, there will be
a session on modern software engineering techniques with some relevant
personalities of the computer science area.

  There is also a social programme, partly supported by the ICA'95 Conference
organization.

  The joint workshop will be held September 4-8, 1995 at the new building of
the Institut Cartografic de Catalunya, wich is located near the Olympic area.

  Do not miss this unique opportunity to take a close look to the latest trends
in sensor orientation!

   The speakers, all of them invited, have been selected among well known
specialyts of the ISPRS, IAG, FIG, remote sensing and computer science
communities.

   The workshop will be structured as follows:
* 10 ordinary sessions,
* 5 highlight lectures,
* 2 keynote addresses,
* a "birds of a feather" session and
* opening and closing ceremonies.

   Lectures will focus on:
* Reports on the state-of-the-art (operational concepts, current research
  topics)
* A survey / classification of existing sensors, under-development sensors and
  future sensors.
* The theory for the integration of different sensors systems.
* Algorithms for sensor orientation and integration.
* On-line and off-line algorithms.
* System's design.
  There is also a social programme, partly supported by the ICA'95 Conference
organization.

   The workshop will be held at the new building of the Institut Cartografic
de Catalunya (ICC), located near Mount Montjuic, Barcelona.

   Barcelona is a city with more than 2000 years of history. The mediaeval
buildings of the Gothic Quarter share the urban landscape with those of the
Art Nouveau period built by architects like Gaudi. A renovated urban
infrastructure have been achieved since 1992, when the Olympic and Paralympic
Games attracted the world attention.

   All kind of cultural and artistic events may be enjoyed in Barcelona.
Museums, (Museu Nacional d'art de Catalunya, Picasso, Miro), theaters, concerts
and festivals are only some of the places that any visitor should attend.

   Its privileged location, near the Pyrenees and warm beaches, makes of
Barcelona a great mediterranean touristic centre.
