              NEURAL NETWORKS IN MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS

The main objectives of this special session are:

  * To provide a forum for presenting and discussing the application of
    neural networks in multimedia systems, e.g., image databases.
  * To promote collaboration between researchers internationally.


Neural Networks (NN) in Multimedia Applications
===============================================
We invite papers dealing with the application of neural networks in
already implemented multimedia systems.  In particular, we are
interested in proven neural network techniques used for virtual
reality applications and multimedia databases.

Some possible topics

NN in Image Processing              NN for Feature Extraction
NN for Data Compression             NN for Content-Based Retrieval
NN for Feature Indexing             NN for Image Synthesis
Specialized image databases: face image, finger prints, etc.

Please submit a short abstract (1 page) via email to
king@cs.cuhk.edu.hk as soon as possible.  If accepted, the full paper
will be required by April 12, 1996.
