International Association of Pattern Recognition IAPR Technical Committee 8 - Applications in Industry invites to a Workshop Machine Perception Applications September 2 - 4, 1996 Technical University Graz, Austria Lecture Hall i7, Inffeldgasse 25 Current industrial applications of machine perception reach far beyond standard tasks like industrial inspection and quality control. This workshop will focus on the use of new methods in a variety of computer vision and pattern recognition applications f or robotics and automation. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, integration of sensors and methods, active inspection systems, learning and adaptation of polymorphic models, and autonomous interaction with a possibly unknown or changing env ironment. We especially invite application-driven contributions dealing with aspects of mid- and high-level computer vision and issue a CALL FOR PAPERS for this workshop. Note that it is set to follow the International Conference on Pattern Recognition ICPR, to be held in Vienna, Austria, August 25 - 30, 1996. Please submit 3 copies of your 500-1000 word extended abstract before 31 January 1996 to one of the Workshop Chairmen: Wolfgang Poelzleitner Axel Pinz Joanneum Research Technical University Graz Institute for Digital Image Processing Institute for Computer Graphics Wastiangasse 6, A-8010 Graz Muenzgrabenstrasse 11, A-8010 Graz poelzleitner@pbox.joanneum.ac.at pinz@icg.tu-graz.ac.at Program Committee: Bruce Batchelor (UK) Denis Boulanger (CAN) Chris Bowman (NZ) Horst Bunke (CH) Wilhelm Burger (A) David Casasent (USA) Cornelia Fermueller (A) Josef Kittler (GB) Dietrich Meyer-Ebrecht (D) Joe Mundy (USA) Stelios Orphanoudakis (GR) Yoshiaki Shirai (J) Harry Wechsler (USA) Contributions will be reviewed by the program committee.
