Call for Papers [CFP] IEEE Multimedia Systems '96, Hiroshima The 3rd International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems June 17-21, 1996 International Conference Center, Hiroshima, Japan Sponsored by: IEEE Computer Society (approval pending) In cooperation with the IEICE of Japan and IPS of Japan The Third IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems (ICMCS) is devoted to presenting and exploring technological advancements and innovations in the field of Digital Multimedia Computing related to technical issues, theory, practice, and business and consumer market applications. It will bring together researchers, developers, educators, performers, and practitioners of Digital Multimedia. The goal is to foster increased synergy in the exploitation of the advances in one area by other areas, and to support communication among developers and deliverers of digital multimedia applications and programming. The conference will address but is not limited to practical, technical, strategic, and standardization issues in the following fields: Systems and Tools: Architecture, networks, distributed systems, operating systems, storage systems, communication protocols, multimedia database and information systems, multimedia production and authoring tools, multimedia intelligent systems. Techniques: Video/audio/image compression, human-computer interaction, real-time scheduling, content-based retrieval, image processing, animation. Applications: Digital libraries, consumer video on demand, interactive TV, arts, medicine, publishing, meeting room support and training, education, entertainment. Submission of Papers: The working language of the conference is English. Each submitted paper must include an abstract and must conform to the following format. First page: title, authors, mailing address, phone, fax number, electronic mail address of each author indicating one or two authors to contact. Second and subsequent pages: title, authors' affiliations, 100 words abstract with full paper manuscript, limited to 25 double-spaced pages including figures and references.
