International Conference on Recent Advances in
                 3-D Digital Imaging and Modeling
              Ottawa, Ontario Canada - May 12-15, 1997
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPERS

INTRODUCTION
Digital 3-D imaging means acquiring and processing three
dimensional data, typically obtained from non-contact optical sensors.
This growing field has many applications in robotics, industrial design
and inspection, human engineering, medical, and in imaging sciences.

This conference will cover all aspects of digital 3-D Imaging and
Modeling from sensors to processing, along with applications.
It is being sponsored and organized by the National Research Council
of Canada. The Conference Proceedings will be printed by IEEE Press
and will be available at the time of the conference.
Selected papers from the conference will be considered for
publication in a special issue of the Image and
Vision Computing Journal.

SITE AND DATE
The International Conference on Recent Advances in 3-D Digital
Imaging and Modeling will be held at the Chateau Laurier Hotel,
Ottawa, Canada from May 12-15, 1997.

Ottawa is not only Canada's Capital but the Tulip Capital
of North America. Come and enjoy the festival, the
world-class museums, the Rideau Canal, the Parliament
Buildings and the many other attractions
this cosmopolitan city has to offer.
