Call for Papers: PE&RS Special Issue on Softcopy Photogrammetry &
Computer Vision for Topographic Applications

The August 1997 issue of "Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing"
(the official journal of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote
Sensing) will be a special issue on Softcopy Photogrammetry and Computer
Vision for Topographic Applications.

The aim is to convey how recent advancements in softcopy photogrammetry and
computer vision are automating and revolutionizing image-based mapping.
Authors are especially encouraged to submit manuscripts addressing the
following topics:

* Systems for the automation of photogrammetric mapping through digital
image analysis.
* Automated extraction of man-made objects (e.g. roads, buildings) from
digital imagery.
* Integration of digital image analysis techniques within spatial
information systems: requirements and algorithmic advancements.
* Change detection using digital aerial imagery.
* Automated generation of geoinformation layers (e.g. DEMs, orthoimages)
and their use in support of digital image analysis.
* Softcopy workstations.

All manuscripts must be prepared according to the "Instructions for
Authors" published in each issue of PE&RS. If you need a copy of these
instructions or additional information please contact the editor (see
address below). Papers will be peer-reviewed in accordance with the
established ASPRS policy. Manuscripts must be received by Wednesday,
January 15, 1997 in order to be consider for publication in this issue.
Authors who wish to contribute papers for this special issue should mail
five copies of their manuscript to:
