                             FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS

                              Special Session on

APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER VISION TO INTELLIGENT VEHICLES

IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems
                  Boston, Massachusetts, November 9-12, 1997

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is sponsoring
a professional-level conference on basic research and present and future
applications of leading-edge advances in communications, computers, control
and related electronics-based technologies to Intelligent Transportation
Systems (ITS).

Sixteen IEEE Societies representing ITS core technologies will host this
landmark conference. It incorporates two earlier IEEE conference series
that have been held annually in this area - the Vehicular Navigation and
Information Systems (VNIS) Conference (since 1989) and the Intelligent
Vehicles (IV) Symposium (since 1991).

Within the ITS'97 Conference a Special Session will be dedicated to the
presentation and discussion of the latest results in the field of Computer
Vision for Intelligent Vehicles.

PAPER SUBMISSION

Prospective authors are invited to send a ``letter of intent'' including
title, authors, and topics covered by the proposed paper by February 1,
1997 to Alberto Broggi, whose complete address is shown below.

Five (5) hardcopies of draft papers must be submitted by April 1, 1997 to
Alberto Broggi for peer review. The cover page should include:

     - Author's affiliation, return address, phone number, and email address
     - The title and topic of the paper
     - A brief abstract

Draft papers will be reviewed for technical content, originality,
completeness and clarity. They should be of sufficient length for such a
review but not more than 15 single-column double-spaced pages.
Notification of acceptance is scheduled for June 30, 1997.
Final camera-ready papers, due August 1, 1997, are limited to 6 pages in
  length.
