TRAVEL SCHOLOARSHIPS 
                                      to 
                Workshop on Undergrad Education and Image Computation
                        June 20, 1997 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
 
 
        The Workshop on Undergraduate Education and Image Computation is 
        being held on June 20, 1997.  This is the day after the Computer 
        Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) '97 conference, in the same 
        location (El San Juan Hotel, Puerto Rico).
 
        The workshop is sponsored by the Pattern Analysis and Machine 
        Intelligence Technical Committee of the IEEE Computer Society.

        A pending National Science Foundation grant will provide travel 
        scholarships for selected faculty members to attend the Workshop 
        on Undergraduate Education and Image Computation.
 
        Criteria for selecting travel scholarship recipients are:
 
          1. The recipient may not be an author of a paper at CVPR '97.
          2. The applicant must be a tenure-track faculty member in the
             1997/98 academic year.
          3. The applicant should show a commitment to match at least $300
             (preferably in support from their home Department).
          4. Priority will be given to faculty at primarily undergraduate
             institutions or faculty from research institutions that have 
             strong teaching interests that wish to establish image-related 
             computation topics in their curriculum.
 
        Up to twenty travel scholarships of approximately $1,000 may be awarded.
 
        A short (one page) statement of application should be email-ed to
