Papers are solicited for a Special Issue of Image and Vision Computing which
address the subject of Projection-Based Transforms. A large amount of work
has been carried out on the detection and recognition of objects in images
using projection-based transforms such as Radon and Hough transforms.
Special algorithms, techniques, and implementations have been developed to
reduce the execution times of such algorithms and to increase the accuracy
of the detection and recognition process. The field has become a mature
subject and is of high relevance to practical implementations in areas such
as medical imaging, surveillance, agriculture and factory automation.

Papers describing novel contributions which describe the subject of
Projection-Based Transforms are invited for the Special Issue. Both
theoretical and experimental contributions from academia and industry are
welcome. The goal of the Special Issue is to gather significant research
results that explore such algorithms and techniques. It is intended to
interpret the subject rather widely, to avoid excluding important cognate
topics such as geometric invariance and sampling strategies. The Special
Issue will also identify the future directions of research in this field.
Possible topics include (but are not limited to):

    * Efficient projection-based * Analysis of peak detection
      transforms accuracy
    * Structural indexing                * Evidence-based recognition
    * Clustering techniques * Probabilistic peaking
    * Geometric grouping * Multiprocessor implementations

Five copies of complete manuscripts (not to exceed 30 double-spaced pages)
should be sent to either of the guest editors by the deadline given below.
Authors should follow the author's guidelines for paper submission of Image
and Vision computing.
