                               CALL FOR PAPERS

Many application domains exist which may benefit from the possibility to
automatically detect, analyse or recognize images of human faces.
Consider,as an example, surveillance and security, telecommunications and
digital libraries, multimedia and medicine.
On the other hand, the advances in computer vision, image processing and
communication science brought to the attention the feasibility of processing
and extracting useful informations from human facial images.
This workshop will bring together researchers in different application
domains on facial image analysis in an attempt to contribute to robust
solutions for the many challenging problems related to this area. Moreover,
the post-ECCV workshop on facial image analysis, will try to identify trends
for future developments and the means for implementing applications based on
face image analysis systems.
The workshop will consist of one day of technical presentations, with
approximately 4 invited presentations and 16-20 orally presented papers
(approximately 25 minutes).

Topics include but are not limited to:

[o] Face and facial features detection and representation
[o] Feature-based and iconic-based techniques for face representation
     and analysis
     [o] Face verification techniques
     [o] Face recognition techniques
[o] Biometric and invariant measurements for face recognition
[o] Head and face modelling techniques
[o] Psychophysics of human face perception and identification
     [o] Applications and new challenges
