free buses running between the hotels and the conference site. All hotels
have satisfactory airconditioning and other usual facilities - they should
all suffice. The more expensive ones have central airconditioning, superior
room furnishings, modern buildings and superior service. Suit your needs.
Blocks of rooms have been reserved at each of the hotels listed on the website.
Please make your reservations early. After October 30, the hotels are free to
release the rooms to others.

                          AGENTS AND AIRFARES

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR PLANNING. DECEMBER AND JANUARY ARE
THE PEAK MONTHS FOR TRAVEL TO/FROM INDIA. PLAN YOUR TRAVEL NOW. SEATS ARE
FILLING UP.

The conference website lists some travel agents within USA. The following
website contains information about travel agents in several countries obtained
through surveys: http://Gremlin.chrr.ohio-state.edu/Travel/

USA:
The fares depend on when you leave. Most fares do NOT require a minimum length
of stay in India anymore. It is easy to get your desired travel dates if you
do your planning before August 31. After that date, it begins to get harder to
find the exact dates you want.

Before Sometime in the Second Week of Dec and After Dec 24:
Most fares for Chicago-Bombay-Chicago (or Chicago-Delhi-Chicago) range from
$950 to $1350 depending on when you leave and on which airline.

Dec 14-Dec 24: This is high season; expect to pay $200-300 more.

Before Thanksgiving: Lowest fares.

CANADA:
The fares are comparable to those from USA.

EUROPE:
Fares are cheaper if you go through travel agents that do volume business in
travel to India.

                                REGISTRATION

Registration form will be made available on the web. You may send the completed
form through paper mail or email to the address indicated on the form, or you
may register via the web. In addition to breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks,
transportation and reception, the registration fee also includes a banquet
and a performance by Mallika Sarabhai - one of the top living dancers in India
today (http://www.Darpana.com/).

Mallika Sarabhai is co-director of the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts,
where she co-ordinates the training of hundred of students in dance, theatre,
puppetry and music, and directs the Darpana Dance Company, the Janavak Folk
and Tribal Dance Company, and Darpana for Development. Her career has developed
>from being a young, internationally acclaimed, classical dancer and film
personality, to being an activist and commentator on social issues. As dancer,
actress, choreographer, writer and instigator of community projects she
challenges audiences to sit up and think, to realign themselves to questions of
ecology, cultural atrophy, and the very place of the arts in our society.

                                    TOURS
