Computer Vision for Virtual Human Modelling or ``Looking to put people in the picture'' a one-day technical meeting to be held on 9 July 1998 at the Institution of Electrical Engineers, IEE, Savoy Place, London Numerous current and future computer applications require animated graphical models of the human body. The best way to achieve this is automated imaging and analysis of human shape, texture and movement. This meeting hopes to bring together a multi-disciplinary set of speakers to discuss the state-of-the-art in both the acquisition of human models and their subsequent use in fields as diverse as virtual reality, anthropmetrics, ergonomics, computer games, personal identity verification and media special effects. Prospective speakers are asked to submit a title and short abstract for their talk by early April 1998 to Dr John Illingworth Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing School of Electronic Engineering, Information Technology and Maths University of Surrey, Guildford Tel: +44 1483 259835 email: J.Illingworth@ee.surrey.ac.uk
