The aim of the First WESIC is to provide a forum where companies,
universities, institutes, and research centres may interchange
experiences in meeting the needs of advanced technology in manufacturing
systems. The workshop will be of particular interest to those companies
and institutions that are interested in collaborating in scientific
projects in their sector. The intention is to identify common points of
interest in order to participate in collaborative actions such as:
research agreements, integration of PhD students in european companies,
transfer of technology, thematic networks, European Community research
projects, etc.
The programme will comprise two days of presentations per sector (15
minutes for each presentation), and one day of specific meetings and
round table discussions. Tutorial sessions giving guidelines for
completion of application forms will be given by experts, of both
Universities and Companies.
The Workshop will focus on control and related technologies applied to
the following subjects:
1. ROBOTICS INTEGRATED IN MANUFACTURING
2. CONTROL OF MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS
3. COMPUTER INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING
4. IMAGE PROCESSING & COMPUTER VISION
5. INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS IN MANUFACTURING AND CONTROL
6. QUALITY CONTROL
7. COMMUNICATIONS AND DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS
The Programme Committee invites participants to submit one paper,
outlining:
- For companies: A clear description of the activity and the research
interests for the future, with the intention of improving aspects such
as design, productivity, and quality. Suggestions for tutorial or
organised sessions are strongly appreciated.
- For universities/research centres: A clear description of the main
research activity, including industrial collaboration experiences and
results achieved. Suggestions for tutorial or organised sessions are
strongly appreciated.
