    The 1999 International Symposium on Signal Processing and Intelligent
 System will be held in Guangzhou city, China, November 26?C28 1999.
 The symposium will be the 5th in the series of annual conferences
 sponsored by the CAS of CIE in collaboration with IEEE CAS society.
 It will include regular sessions on all aspects as well as special
 sessions on specific advanced topics of SP and IS.
 
    Papers presenting original work in all areas of SP and IS are invited.
 Topics for regular sessions include, but not limited, to the following:
 
  Adaptive signal processing 		 Speech and image processing
  Filter theory 				 Wavelet
  Computer Vision			 Virtual Reality
  Pattern analysis and recognition	 System identification
  Hardware & software 			 Robot
  Evolutionary algorithms		 Genetic algorithms
  Fractals, chaos and neurodynamics 	 Cognitive science
  Neural networks			 Fuzzy and neural system
  Knowledge acquisition and representation
 
 Prospective authors are invited to submit one camera ready and three copies
 of their manuscripts to the Technical Program Chair Prof. Gang Wei. Authors
 should also indicate one or more of above areas that best describe the topics
 of their papers and their preference on poster or lecture presentations in
 the paper cover sheet. Submission of a paper implies a commitment to present
 the paper, if accepted. Each paper should be of approximately four A4 pages
 in length. Format details are on the reverse of this page.
