IMAGE AND VISION COMPUTING

Special Issue on

ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS=20
FOR IMAGE ANALYSIS AND COMPUTER VISION

CALL FOR PAPERS=20

Due to the reduced costs of image acquisition devices and the increasing
computational power of the current computer systems, the analysis of images
is nowadays popular and particularly suited to applications involving tasks
computationally intensive, ranging from robotics and visual inspection to
autonomous vehicle driving and automated surveillance. Artificial Neural
Networks (ANNs), with their massive parallelism, have proved to be
promising in a wide variety of vision application areas and to be
particularly useful in solving problems where traditional techniques have
failed or proved inefficient. This special issue aims to bring together
papers presenting original research work on applications of ANNs to image
analysis and computer vision. The special issue is planned to be published
in the year 2000.
