May 18-21 1999, Hotel Delta, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada

VI/QCAV'99 is a unique event with two international research
conferences that present the latest results in computer vision and
quality control by artificial vision. Each conference offers three
concurrent days of invited and submitted papers. For a single
registration fee, participants can attend presentations in either
conference, promoting the exchange of knowledge among these important
disciplines. Time has been set aside for workshops and other events. A
banquet provides additional opportunities to meet speakers and other
attendees for informal discussion in a social setting. The two
conferences are sponsored by the Canadian Image Processing and Pattern
Recognition Society (CIPPRS). VI is also sponsored by the
International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

For the review process, prepare your manuscript (full paper) in
English or French on single-column, double-spaced pages (15 maximum).
Each manuscript should contain a cover page with the paper title,
names and affiliations of authors, and keywords. The next page should
repeat the title but not the names and affiliations of authors, and
proceed with an abstract (250 words maximum) followed by the full
paper (the cover page will be removed before reviewing). Either send
by mail five hardcopies of the manuscript to:

Marc Parizeau, Universite Laval
Laboratoire de vision et systemes numeriques
Departement de Genie Electrique et de Genie Informatique
Universite Laval, Ste-Foy (PQ), Canada, G1K 7P4

Or submit your manuscript electronically through the following web
server:

   http://manitou.gel.ulaval.ca:8080/vi99.html

where you will find further instructions (files may be submitted
either in postscript or pdf). The deadline for submitting papers using
both procedures is November 20th, 1998.
