This workshop is the fourth in a series of annual meetings organized
by the Graduate Research Center "3-D Image Analysis and Synthesis."
The first two meetings were held in Erlangen, the previous meeting was
held in Alpbach, Austria. In 1999, the meeting is for the first time
jointly organized with the new Center of Excellence SFB 603 "Model-based
Analysis and Visualization of Complex Scenes and Sensor Data" at the
University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The program will consist of invited
talks by internationally renowned speakers, as well as contributed
 papers.

The workshop will address the following topics:
    - 3-D imaging
    - Object localization and recognition
    - Volume data processing and visualization
    - Multisensor fusion and 3-D registration
    - 3-D structure from motion and stereo
    - Geometry-based and image-based rendering
    - Geometric modeling
    - Scene modeling and integration
    - Multiview image processing and coding
    - Applications (medical, robotics, fluid mechanics, manufacturing,
automated inspection, virtual reality, communication etc.)

Prospective attendees are invited to submit a paper up to 8 pages
in final form. All submissions will be reviewed. Accepted papers will
appear in the workshop digest as submitted. Authors should obtain the
author's kit (including LaTeX style-file) from
       http://sfb-603.uni-erlangen.de/vmv99.html

The author's kit provides complete information relative to the
submission process. It is the intention of the Committee to conduct
all communication with authors electronically. Questions should be
 directed to
       vmv99@informatik.uni-erlangen.de.
