CALL FOR DEMONSTRATIONS
IEEE Computer Society Conference on
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition
Web Site:
http://cvpr2000.cs.uiuc.edu/demos.html
PURPOSE
CVPR's demonstration session is an opportunity for members of the vision
and pattern recognition research communities to present and exchange
ideas in an interactive way. A key feature of this session are the
on-going live demonstrations given by its participants. These
demonstrations present all or part of a working system developed for
Vision and Pattern Recognition tasks. We encourage both Industry and
Academic organizations to participate in this session.
In addition to space and equipment support during the demonstration
session, demo proposals accepted for presentation at CVPR2000 will be
allocated a maximum of 2 pages in the conference proceedings.
IMPORTANT DATES
Deadline for receipt of demonstration proposals 10 February 2000
Acceptance notification by 23 February 2000
Camera-ready demonstration summary due to IEEE-CS Press 17 March 2000
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Submission of a CVPR demonstration proposal consists of the
following three steps, to be performed by the deadline date:
1. Demonstration information: An email in simple raw text should be sent to
kyros@cs.rochester.edu containing (1) the title of the demonstration,
(2) the list of participants and their affiliations, (3) the phone,
email and fax of the main contact person, (4) equipment you will bring
with you, (5) equipment you are asking CVPR to try to provide, (6) average
time to run a demonstration, and (7) a list of published papers, if any,
that describe the demonstrated system in more detail.
2. Camera-ready demonstration summary: A second email containing a
camera-ready description of the demonstration in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) or
uncompressed Postscript format should also be sent to
kyros@cs.rochester.edu. This description will be included in the CVPR
proceedings upon acceptance of the proposal and should not be longer than
TWO pages including figures and references. The description should conform
to the format instructions for regular CVPR papers. See URLs
http://cvpr2000.cs.uiuc.edu/CVPRSubmitGuide.html
3. Video clips (optional): You are also encouraged to submit video clips
(in MPEG or QuickTime format) in support of your proposal. A web page
containing summaries and video clips of accepted demonstrations will be
available after acceptance decisions are made. More information about
how to submit video clips will be available at the CVPR2000 demos web page
by mid-January.
Interested participants are encouraged to check last year's CVPR demonstration
web page, located at http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~cvpr99/demos.html.
If accepted, you will need to bring a poster for use in the session. You are
also encouraged to bring along a video demonstration. For those people who
are reluctant to ship monitors, we are willing to entertain providing monitors
by special arrangement. We encourage participants to bring as much of their
own equipment as possible.
