============================================== SECOND CALL FOR PARTICIPATION FOURTH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON DOCUMENT ANALYSIS SYSTEMS (DAS'2000) RIO OTHON PALACE HOTEL COPACABANA BEACH - RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL 10 -13 DECEMBER, 2000 You are invited to participate in the Fourth International Workshop on Document Analysis Systems (DAS'2000). The first three workshops were successfully held, respectively, in Germany, United States, and Japan. DAS'2000 will be a single-track and 100% participation workshop. It will aim at bringing together outstanding research and developments in Document Analysis Systems. The workshop will be held over four days. The first day is reserved for tutorials. The technical program will consist of invited talks, given by expert in the field, oral presentations, and panel discussions. Panel discussions will focus on 10 Years of Document Image Analysis, and will attempt to pin-point the areas where progress has been fast and where it has been slow. In addition, panel discussions will attempt to identify new directions toward the third millennium. The DEADLINE for full paper submission is May 15th. Other details can be found on the workshop web site: http://www.utp.br/das2000. _______________________________ CALL FOR TUTORIALS THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCES IN PATTERN RECOGNITION RIO OTHON PALACE HOTEL COPACABANA BEACH - RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL 11 -13 MARCH, 2001 The main aim of ICAPR is to bring together the very best in pattern recognition research. The conference is intended for putting forward both recent and futuristic advances that are of critical and fundamental importance to the field in both application and theory. The conference will bring together elite researchers in their fields through invitation calls but each subject to blind reviewing procedure. ICAPR^2001 will be organized over four days. Interested researchers are invited to propose for for tutorials. Tutorials will be held on the first day of the conference and will last for approximately two hours each. Tutorial proposals should be sent to Sameer Singh, ICAPR'2001, Department of Computer Science, University of Exeter, Exeter EX4 4PT, UK as a 500 word summary of the tutorial contents and a 150 word biography of the author(s) no later than 15 May, 2000. Tutorial acceptances will be notified within a period of four weeks after the deadline to allow enough time for presenters to prepare their work. A standard paper based on the tutorial will also be published in the proceedings following the same guidelines as for standard papers.
