We believe the years from 2000 onwards will be increasingly
characterized by an extensive use of Intelligent Autonomous Systems.
IAS-6 will be the first one in a long series of IAS Conferences to be
held during this New Era. Therefore, we need to face new challenges by
introducing new theoretical research issues and opening new application
fields.
To make IAS-6 a milestone in the advancement of the Intelligent
Autonomous Systems science and technology, the City of Venice has been
chosen as the host-site for IAS-6, because of its long tradition of
favoring the exchanges between Eastern and Western cultures in the
history of mankind.
IAS-6 will take place at LeZitelle, a beautiful ancient building on the
Giudecca Island just opposite San Marco's Square. An Honorary Lecture
will be held in the historical Main Hall of The University of Padua. A
Post-Conference Industrial Forum is being planned. We warmly welcome all
representatives from industry, government, and academia to join us in
Venice in July 2000!
