The Sixth International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and
Vision, ICARCV 2000, will be held in Singapore on 5 - 8 December 2000.
The conference will be co-organised by the School of Electrical and
Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, The
Institution of Engineers, Singapore and IEEE Singapore Section. The
theme of ICARCV 2000 is "Intelligent Automation in the New Millennium"
and it will focus on the trends and impacts of automation technologies
in the new millennium. This will provide a forum for Control and
Automation professionals, manufacturing engineers and academic
researchers to exchange up-to-date technical knowledge and experiences.
The conference will focus on both theory and applications. In addition
to the technical sessions, there will be plenary, invited and tutorial
sessions. An exhibition will also be held in conjunction with the
 technical sessions.

Papers describing original work in the following technical areas are
 invited:
CONTROL : Modelling of Complex Systems* Control Methodologies and
Applications* Estimation, Identification and Fault Detection* Adaptive and
Learning Systems* Robust Control* Nonlinear Control* Intelligent Control*
 Process Control * Motion Control

AUTOMATION : Instrumentation Systems* Flexible Manufacturing Systems*
Process Automation* Man-machine Interactions* Computer Integrated
Manufacturing* Factory Modelling and Automation* Petri Nets and Applications

 Technology

 Submission Procedure:
Papers must be written in English and should describe original work in
 detail.
Please submit the following to the Technical Programme Chairman by 31 May
 2000:
 1. Title page which includes name, title, address, affiliation,
telephone/fax numbers and email of the
author to whom all correspondence will be sent.
 2. A second page with paper title, author(s), affiliations, four keywords to
indicate the area of the paper, and a 100-word abstract.
 3. Four copies of full paper.
The length of the final paper in the Proceedings will be limited to a
maximum of 5 pages (A4 size, single space, Times Roman of font size 10, two
columns format), including figures, tables and references.
Upon acceptance, authors will be required to register and present their
papers. Papers will be published in the conference proceedings only if at
least one of the authors is officially registered.

Invited Sessions: The Technical Programme Committee is soliciting proposals
for invited sessions focusing on topics related to the theme of ICARCV 2000.
Prospective organisers should submit proposals to the Technical Programme
Co-Chairmen (at the same address as below) by 31 March 2000.

Best Paper Award: Selection of the best paper will be made at the Conference
based on both the technical contents and presentation. The winner will be
chosen by the Technical Program Committee members in consultation with the
 International Advisory Committee members.
