Important Announcements from the Organizing Committee of ICASSP 2000
Silver Anniversary: 

We are excited to offer you an excellent Technical Program with Three
Plenary Sessions, six Special Sessions and a Student Forum, Eight
Tutorials, and Eighty Technical Sessions in Twelve different areas in
this Silver Anniversary of ICASSP series as well as special events
such as: 

 Silver Anniversary Address by Professor Bruce A. Eisenstein, IEEE President 

 The Makhoul Challenge award (if it is resolved by June 5, 2000,) 

 ICASSP2000 Sakip Sabanci Cartoon Contest and Exhibit

 The Silver Anniversary Banquet held at the Ciragan Palace, home of
    the later Ottoman Imperial House on the shores of the Bosporus.

Members of the IEEE signal processing society and authors will be
receiving a printed copy in the mail.  Please note that June is the
beginning of the high tourist season in Istanbul and you do have to
act fast to take advantage of special reduced rates for hotels (five
conference hotels have been sold-out already) and air tickets
available to ICASSP attendees.

It might inconvenience all of us if it is not addressed in a timely
fashion.  Finally, Texas Instruments is offering educators a practical
introduction to the revolutionary TMS320C6000(tm) DSP family: The
TMS320C6211 DSP Starter Kit (DSK) Workshop.  Texas Instruments will
offer two one-day workshops at ICASSP 2000 on June 7th and June 9th,
based on the TMS320C6211 DSP Starter Kit (DSK) with the Code Composer
Studio(tm) Integrated Development Environment. The TMS320C6211 DSK
Workshop is a hands-on and lab-based educational program facilitated
by experienced university instructors.  This workshop will introduce
educators and engineers to: The TMS320C6000 architecture and
peripherals The Code Composer Studio Integrated Development
Environment Real-time programming and DSP/BIOS(tm) Assembly language
programming Each participant will receive a TMS320C6211DSK with TI's
compliments. Attendees must complete the one-day workshop in order to
receive the DSK. Details can be found in our website.  Looking forward
