IMVIP 2000 - Irish Machine Vision and Image Processing Conference 2000 31 August - 2 September 2000 Centre for Image and Vision Systems, http://www.qub.ac.uk/ivs School of Computer Science The Queen's University of Belfast Northern Ireland http://www.iprcs.org The Irish Machine Vision & Image Processing Conference 2000 (IMVIP 2000) will be hosted by the Centre for Image and Vision Systems, School of Computer Science, The Queen's University of Belfast, bringing together theoreticians and practitioners, industrialists and academics, from the numerous related disciplines involved in the processing and analysis of image-based information. IMVIP 2000 is a single-track conference consisting of high quality previously unpublished contributed papers. The conference emphasises both theoretical research results and practical engineering experience in all areas. Papers will be subjected to a strict review process - on complete papers. Accepted papers will be presented orally, though, if the numbers demand, there will be poster sessions. All accepted papers will be printed in the Proceedings. At least one of the authors of accepted papers will be expected to register for the conference, and to present their work at the conference. In addition to the contributed programme, there will be talks by invited speakers. IMVIP 2000 is the fourth conference in the series. Previous IMVIP conferences have been held in Magee College, University of Ulster (1997), NUI, Maynooth (1998), Dublin City University (1999), following an Image and Vision Colloquium at Queen's in 1996. TOPICS Contributions are sought in all aspects of image processing, pattern recognition and machine vision, including but not restricted to the following topics: - Industrial Machine Vision - Remote Sensing - Image & Video Representation, Compression and Coding - Medical and Biomedical Imaging - Image Processing in Forensic Science - Hardware and Software Architectures for Image Processing INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION Authors who wish to present a paper at the conference should send four copies of their paper to the address given below by 1 May 2000. Full papers, not exceeding 8 printed pages (11 pt font, single-spacing) should be submitted for review.
