====================================================================== FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS ====================================================================== JOINT IAPR INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS ON Syntactical and Structural Pattern Recognition (SSPR 2000) and Statistical Pattern Recognition (SPR 2000) Alicante, Spain, 30 August - 1 September, 2000 A Satellite Event of the International Conference of Pattern Recognition ICPR 2000 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * * Deadline has been extended to: January 10, 2000 * * * * * * ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) and its technical committees on Statistical PR (TC1) and Syntactical and Structural PR (TC2) are organising a Joint workshop in Alicante prior to the next ICPR in Barcelona. The workshop aims at promoting interaction and collaboration not only among researchers working directly in the areas covered by TC1 and TC2 but also among those specialized in other fields but using or developing statistical, syntactic or structural techniques. In this relation it is of particular interest to encourage links with many mathematical statisticians, theoreticians and practitioners alike who work at present outside the pattern recognition community. Papers should describe original and unpublished work about these topics (SPR, SSPR) or closely related ones. Five hard copies of the manuscripts have to be sent by January 10, 2000 to: Francesc J. Ferri (S+SSPR 2000) Dept. Informŕtica. Universitat de Valčncia Dr. Moliner, 50 46100 Burjassot (Valencia). Spain All manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two members of the program committee. Accepted papers will appear in the proceedings that will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science by Springer- Verlag, and will be distributed to all participants at the workshop. Structure of the manuscripts: 1. A cover page containing title, author's name, affiliation, and address, phone/fax number and e-mail address of the correspondence author. 2. A first page including the title, a 150-word abstract, and a keyword list. 3. The paper should have an extent of up to 9 more A4 pages, starting with the introduction (please do not repeat the headings, abstract, etc). This way, the entire manuscript will consist of cover page, first page and up to 9 more pages. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the instructions for authors from LNCS series (details in the workshop web page). --------------------- S P R 2000 --------------------- Co-Chairmen Francesc J.
