International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing(ITCC2001) April 2-4, 2001 Las Vegas, Nevada Sponsored by IEEE Computer Society http://www.cs.clemson.edu/~srimani/itcc2001/cfp.html Scope: The rapid growth in information science and technology in general and the complexity and volume of multimedia data in particular have introduced new challenges for the research community. Of particular interest is the need for a concise representation, efficient manipulation, and fast transmission of multimedia data. Applications such as space science, telemedicine, military, and robotics deal with large volumes of data which need to be stored and processed in real time. This conference is intended to serve as a forum to bring together researchers and practitioners for exchanging ideas, knowledge, and experience from different areas of specialization in information technology. The focus will be on application areas including information storage, processing, and communication. Submission: Papers should be original and contain contributions of theoretical or experimental nature. Interested authors should send an 8-page extended summary including 5 keywords to one of the Program Chairs, Pradip K Srimani Department of Computer Science Clemson University Clemson, SC 29634-0974, USA Email: srimani@cs.clemson.edu; or Heather Yu Panasonic Information and Networking Technologies Lab Two Research Way Princeton, NJ 08540 Email: heathery@research.panasonic.com. Electronic submission is strongly encouraged. Schedule: Deadline: Oct. 16th, 2000 Author notification: Nov. 13th, 2000 Camera ready paper: Dec.15th, 2000 Special Sessions & Panels: Interested persons should contact the General Chair as soon as possible with a brief proposal containing topics and proposer information. Already planned special sessions are: Media Streaming: http://www.ee.princeton.edu/~wzeng/ITCC01SS_streaming.html Web & Hypermedia Sys, http://isi-cnr.deis.unical.it:1080/~cannatar/ITCC01SS.htm Medical Imaging, http://virtual.ecu.edu/conf/index.htm Industrial Strength Multimedia, http://www.mis.coventry.ac.uk/ITCC2000/ Current Trends in Multimedia Communications and Computing, http://www.ece.stevens-tech.edu/~suba/ITCC/itcc01.html Recent Advances in Wireless Communications Multimedia/Video Transmission and Authentication Student Best Paper Award: A Student Best Paper will be awarded at the conference. Papers submitted by students may be considered for the award, which includes full conference registration. To be eligible, the student must be the sole author of the paper, or the first author and primary contributor. A cover letter or email to the Program Chairs must identify the paper as a candidate for this competition at the time of the submission. (The winner of the award will present the paper in a plenary speech at the conference.) Note: The Proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society. A special issue of an international journal is being planned consisting of selected papers from this conference. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version for the journal.
