Theme
Like its seven predecessors, M2VIP 2001 will provide a forum for
international experts and researchers to present and review advances in
mechatronics and machine vision which have culminated in practical
applications, or which promise practical implementation in the very near
future.

Topics
The topics covered in the conference will include, but not be limited to,
the following topics:
- Service robots
- Visual inspection
- Mechatronics in medicine/surgery
- Visual servoing and tracking
- Mechatronics in agriculture/environmental
- Sensors and sensor fusion
- Mechatronics in buildings and homes
- Actuator and drive technology
- Mechatronics in toys/entertainment industry
- Intelligent control and automation
- Intelligent aids for the elderly and disabled
- MEMS technology
- Machine vision
- Smart materials and structures

Invited Sessions
The conference welcomes proposals for invited sessions.  The organiser of
each invited session should submit a title, a brief description on the
relevance of the session to the conference, and a minimum of four invited
papers (each with an abstract of 2 pages) for review.  For information,

Paper Submission
Extended-Abstract Submission: 5th March 2001
Notification of Paper Acceptance: 16th April 2001
Final Paper Submission: 2nd July 2001
Format: An extended abstract of two A4 pages with authors' affiliation, five
keywords, and full mailing address should be sent to Dr. B.L. Luk by e-mail
