CALL FOR PAPERS

         INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF COMPUTER VISION
                   Special Issue on
Multi-View Modeling and Rendering of Visual Scenes

                    Guest Editors
Kyros Kutulakos, University of Rochester, USA
Amnon Shashua, The Hebrew University, Israel
      (kyros@cs.rochester.edu, shashua@cs.huji.ac.il)

The purpose of this special issue is to bring together original,
high-quality research in computer vision and computer graphics on
modeling, rendering and manipulating static or dynamic 3D scenes from
multiple photographs. In recent years, there has been a fast and
noticeable progress along the following paths:

(1) advances in multi-view stereo reconstruction have led to
impressive results in recovering geometrically- and
photometrically-complex shapes from large collections of photographs,
(2) image-based modeling and rendering techniques have demonstrated
the potential of creating photo-realistic simulations of real
    scenes, and
(3) the area of structure-from-motion has evolved into a body of
results related to the representation of 3D space and its camera views
in terms of collections of functions representing both the geometric
and photometric variability of image space.

Taken together, the fast progress along these lines of research is
leading to new ways to formulate the traditional problems of
structure-from-motion, motion estimation, reconstruction, and image
synthesis.

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit high quality, original
works which have not appeared, nor are under consideration, in any
other journals.
