CALL FOR PAPERS

        Special Issue on Human Modeling, Analysis and Synthesis

GUEST EDITORS: Ioannis Kakadiaris, Rajeev Sharma and Mohammed Yeasin

Theme: In recent years there has been an explosion of research on new
ways of understanding and representing the subtleties of human modeling,
capturing, analysis, and synthesis. There have been several successful
workshops and conference tracks in this area. This special isssue of
Machine Vision and Applications is devoted to all aspects of modeling,
analysis and synthesis of a person's appearance, movement and behavior.
Suggested themes for submitted papers include (but not limited to):

- Accurate anthropometric modeling and measurement
- Human motion capture
- Human motion synthesis and retargeting
- Learning complex dynamics from video
- Statistical and spatio-temporal models of human motion
- Virtual humans and avatars
- Interactive visual interfaces
- Modeling of skin and clothing
- Human activity recognition
- Applications of human modeling, analysis and synthesis

Timetable:

 Manuscript due: October 31, 2001
 Notification of acceptance decision: December 28, 2001
 Final Version due: January 18, 2002
 Publication Date: May 2002

October 31st, 2001 should receive five copies of the paper.
