This is a reminder that the deadline for submissions Posters and
Technical Demos is: May 15, 2001.

There have been overwhelming responses to the Call for Papers and
hundreds of submissions of full papers from all over the world have been
received. The proceedings of the conference will be published as
the Lecture Note of Computer Science by Springer.
To accommodate more people who are interested in participating
the conference, but missed the deadline of full paper submission,
PCM2001 calls for submissions of posters and technical demos.
POSTER sessions are designed to provide an opportunity for researchers
to submit latest work after full paper deadline and present ideas in an
interactive setting.
TECHNICAL DEMONSTRATIONS sessions will include leading edge work in
every area of multimedia technology and its application. An award will
be given to the best technical demo.

PCM2001
The Second IEEE Pacific-Rim Conference on Multimedia will be
held in Beijing. The conference provide a forum Pacific-Rim
and the world to presenting and exploring technological and
artistic advancements in multimedia. We cordially invites your
participation in this annual multimedia event from by submitting
your work in all aspects of multimedia computing to define the
future of multimedia in the new millennium!

TECHNICAL PROGRAM
The technical program will consist of keynote addresses, talks,
special sessions, panels, demonstrations and tutorials with
topics of interest to be organized in three main tracks:
-Multimedia system support and networking, including
network protocols, operating systems, middleware, servers,
QoS, databases, sensors, actuators and clients;
-Multimedia processing and coding, including multimedia
processing, compression, and coding, content analysis,
content-based retrieval, watermarking, security, and
media streaming;
-Multimedia tools, end-systems and applications, including
hypermedia systems, user interfaces, authoring, multi-modal
interaction and integration, multimedia education, multimedia
in telecommunications, design and applications of virtual
environments, and system integrations.
Best paper award and best student paper award will be selected
and presented to the winners at the conference.
