Call for Papers
Probabilistic Models in Computer Vision
Special Issue of Image and Vision Computing

The Journal of Image and Vision Computing
(http://www.elsevier.com/locate/imavis) invites contributions for a
Special Issue on Probabilistic Models in Computer Vision. Full papers
should be sent to the address below and are due by 1st December 2001.
The journal's web site contains guidelines for authors.

Following the recent one-day British Machine Vision Association
Symposium in association with the RSS Statistical Image Analysis and
Processing Study Group on Probabilistic Models in Vision and Signal
Processing this special issue will attempt to capture the main objective
of the day which was to explore the common ground between the two
communities.

Possible topics may include (but are not limited to):
Bayesian Estimation
Image Sequences and Tracking
State Space and Hidden Markov Models
Particle Filtering and Smoothing

Such approaches are being applied to a large number of interesting
real-world problems in computer vision, such as medical prognosis,
tracking, motion estimation and generation, communications, blind
deconvolution, statistical model diagnostic tools, automatic control,
navigation and neural network training.

High quality, previously unpublished papers are solicited. Four copies
of the complete manuscript should be sent to Richard Bowden at the
address below before December 1st 2001. Please also email either pdf or
ps version of your manuscript to r.bowden@eim.surrey.ac.uk. Expressions
of interest should be made asap.
