------------------------------------------------------------------------ WORKSHOP ON VIDEO REGISTRATION Vancouver, Canada, July 13, 2001. With International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV2001) July 9-12 GENERAL CHAIRS PROGRAM CHAIRS LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS Bob Hummel, DARPA Mubarak Shah, UCF Dick Cannata, Harris Peter Burt, Sarnoff Rakesh Kumar, Sarnoff A key tool in the exploitation of video is the alignment of video frames to each other or to reference images and models. Registration of consecutive video frames can be used for stabilization of video sequences and construction of video panoramas. Decomposing the motion of image pixels into background and foreground layers can be used for compression and indexing. Recovering displacement fields between video frames can be used for video enhancement, 3D recovery, modeling and image based rendering. Registration of video to models can be used for augmented reality, video insertion, geo-registration etc. The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers from computer vision, who are involved in different aspects of video registration, to exchange information and to foster interaction. The plan is also to invite a few researchers from other disciplines: graphics, photogrammetry, medical imaging, etc, who are interested in video registration. The workshop program will include reviewed/ invited papers and panel discussion. The topics include but are not limited to: Model-based registration Sensor modeling Geo-registration of video Video enhancement Feature-based Registration Mosaicing video sequences Site Modeling from video Video insertion and deletion Video registration for compression Layered representations of video Enhanced visualization of video Moving object detection and tracking PROGRAM COMMITTEE Allen Hanson P.
