****************************************************************** IEEE Signal Processing Society 10th DSP Workshop and 2nd Signal Processing Education Workshop Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, GA October 13-16, 2002 The IEEE Digital Signal Processing Workshop and Signal Processing Education Workshop will be held jointly at Callaway Gardens in the southernmost foothills of Georgia, October 13-16, 2002. The DSP workshop is the tenth in a series of workshops designed to unite top researchers from around the world to discuss novel signal processing theories and methods. The SP Education workshop will be the second in its series to bring together top educators for the discussion of signal processing education theory, practice, and tools. These workshops will feature prominent plenary speakers from the signal processing community as well as technical sessions for presenting contributed papers. Potential authors are encouraged to submit two-page summaries on topics pertinent to these workshops. Example paper topics include but are not limited to those listed below. DSP Workshop Topics: * Filter design and structures * Fast algorithms * Multirate processing and wavelets * Adaptive systems and filtering * Compression * Nonlinear systems and signal processing * Signal processing for communications applications * Biomedical signal processing * DSP and the Internet (e.g., voice over IP) * New Directions and Applications Signal Processing Education Workshop Topics: * DSP Across the Engineering Curriculum * DSP Educational Tools, Techniques, and Toys * DSP Infusion Efforts (i.e., DSP Before the Senior Year) * DSP Labs, Design, and Implementation Issues Deadlines: Submission of two-page abstract: May 1, 2002 Notification of acceptance: May 31, 2002 Advance registration: Aug. 1, 2002 Submission of final four-page paper: Aug. 13, 2002 See http://www.dsp2002.gatech.edu/ or http://www.spe2002.gatech.edu/ for instructions on how to submit a paper summary as well as for other information regarding the workshops.
