ANNOUNCEMENT & FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

The Seventh European Conference on Computer Vision - ECCV 2002 - will
be jointly organized by the IT-University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen 
University and Lund University and will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, 
on May 27 to June 2, 2000.

ECCV is a single track conference comprising the highest quality, 
previously unpublished, contributed papers, presented either orally 
or as posters. 
            
Contributions are sought on new and original research on any aspect 
of computer vision including, inter alia, the following topics: 

            Image features 
            Texture, shading, & colour 
            Visual motion 
            Structure from motion 
            Stereoscopic vision 
            Surface geometry 
            Shape 
            Grouping and segmentation 
            Object recognition 
            Calibration 
            Biologically-inspired computational models 
            Active and real-time vision 
            Visually-guided robot manipulation & navigation 
            Image and video indexing 
            Medical image understanding 
            Vision systems engineering & evaluation 
            Industrial applications 
                
All papers will be subject to a double-blind review process which 
will be carried out by a Programme Committee of leading 
international researchers.

The proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in the "Lecture 
Notes in Computer Science" series. 
            
Arising from generous donations by the University of Freiburg and 
other sponsors, substantial Best Paper prizes will be awarded. 

A number of tutorials are scheduled for the 27th of May. Tuturial 
presenters are encouraged do submit a proposal describing the
content of the tutorial, the intended audience and a brief 
biography.

A number of workshops are scheduled for the 1-2:nd June. Workshop
proposers are encouraged to submit a proposal describing the scope
of the workshop together with a budget and an estimation of the
number of participants. Please, include as much information as
possible about the form of the workshop, i.e. invited speakers,
program committee, proceedings, etc.
