Subject: ICASSP Special Sessions

The organizing committee of ICASSP 2002 solicits proposals for ICASSP Special
Sessions. These sessions are intended to be topic-oriented, with the topic
being out of the mainstream, describing new applications of signal processing or
promising DSP systems. Because of the novelty, these sessions are very well
attended. At the last ICASSP, special sessions covered Bioinformation
Processing, Conversational Systems for Pervasive Computing, Low Power Wireless
Networks, Configurable Computing for DSP, Signal Processing for Nondestructive
Evaluation, and Network Inference and Traffic Modeling.

All special sessions will be oral presentations that are somewhat longer than
usual ICASSP presentations. We want to have one special session each day of
ICASSP. A paper to be included in the Proceedings will be required.

Proposers of special sessions should describe the topic and give examples of the
papers that might be solicited (Special session organizers will invite all
papers for a session). Proposals should be submitted to Don Johnson
(dhj@rice.edu) by October 1, 2002.
