San Francisco St., (800)523-5002 We are requesting co-sponsorship by the IEEE Computer Society and cooperation by IEEE Signal Processing Society The fifth Southwest Symposium on Image Analysis and Interpretation will be held April 7-9, 2002, in Sante Fe, New Mexico. The symposium will bring together researchers in academia, industry, and government to discuss the latest advances in image analysis and interpretation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: Video image analysis Stereo image analysis Features and invariants Biomedical image analysis Segmentation and boundary detection Remote sensing Color image analysis Document image analysis Multiresolution techniques Automated inspection Multidimensional and multispectral Image analysis in the compressed analysis Real-time image analysis domain Real-time image analysis Applications SUBMISSION PROCEDURES: Submit a summary of the paper in a single-column, 12-point font format having no more than three pages, including figures and references. Mail (no e-mail submissions, please) four hardcopies of the paper summary, along with a cover sheet stating the paper title, technical area(s), and corresponding author's information (telephone, fax, mailing address, e-mail address) to Prof. Edward J. No person may appear as an author or co-author on more than three proposed papers. AUTHOR'S SCHEDULE: * October 22, 2001: Submission of three-page summary * December 15, 2001: Notification of acceptance * January 28, 2002: Final camera-ready paper and registration due (hard deadline is February 4, 2002) The hotel reservation cutoff date is expected to be March 7, 2002, at 5:00 PM MST.
