 The Conference covers the areas of video and signal based surveillance. 
 It focuses on underlying theory, methods, systems, and applications areas. 
 It includes but is not limited to the following topics:
 -Motion Detection, Motion Tracking, 
 -Multi-Camera Calibration, Omni-directional Vision
 -Activity Monitoring, Object Recognition
 -Face Detection/Recognition in Unconstrained Environments
 -Infrared Imaging, Fusion, Archival & Retrieval of Video Data
 -Threat Assessment, Military Applications, Civilian Applications
 -Hardware and Software Architectures, Signal Intelligence
 
 Paper Submission The paper in pdf format should be received by February 
 1. Please send your submission to: mailto:nikos@scr.siemens.com
 
 Papers should include:
 (a) A title page containing title and abstract only, to allow for double 
     blind reviewing, and
 (b) The paper, limited to 24 double-spaced pages (12 points, 1 inch
     margins), including figures and references.
 The authors should also fill an electronic form with their names and 
 affiliations.
 
 Accepted papers will be published in the AVSS proceedings. Also, selected 
 papers from the Conference will be published in a special journal issue.
