WHY ATTEND?

CIVR is one of the leading forums for image and video retrieval. The
conference program contains papers on a wide variety of topics
including user modelling, shape matching, benchmarking/evaluation,
clustering, compressed retrieval, video summarization, and many more.
A feature of this conference is the mixture of researchers and
practitioners which makes CIVR a unique forum for ideas and collaborations.

The conference program contains forty-six papers which represent
the state-of-the-art in image and video retrieval.  The presentations
include the leading work from research labs such as
IBM Research, Philips Research, University of Tokyo,
University of Illinois at UC, Carnegie-Mellon, etc.
These are augmented with panel discussions on the user experience
and evaluation of retrieval systems.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Previous conferences have attracted computer scientists, strategists,
librarians, museum informatics specialists, archivists, digital library
researchers, government information providers, publishers, and
content specialists from a broad cross-section of sectors and
disciplines.  Typically, there is an equal mix of university
and industy/government attendees.

Attendees can find a number of good hotels within
walking distance of the Beckman Institute.

REGISTRATION

Registration covers attendance at the conference, proceedings,
refreshments, and all meals (breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and dinner).
Graduate students qualify for discounts. The sponsoring

The fees are: $250.00 (student) and $350.00 (others).
