        August 25-30, 2003, Katun village, Russian Federation

Dear Colleagues,

Please find enclosed "Call for Participation" for the 6-th Open German
- Russian Workshop "Pattern Recognition and Image Understanding"
(OGRW-6-2003).
The Workshop will be held August 25 - 30, 2003 in Katun village (near
Gorno-Altaisk), Altai resort area, at the south of Western Siberia.
The recommended date of arrival is August 24, 2003.

IMPORTANT  DETAILS

1. The OGRW-6-2003 is sponsored by the International Association
for Pattern Recognition.

2.       WORKSHOP CO-CHAIRMEN:
Prof. Dr. Heinrich Niemann, Chair for Pattern Recognition, University
of Erlangen-Nuenberg, Erlangen, Germany,
niemann@informatik.uni-erlangen.de;
Prof. Yuri Zhuravlev, full member of the RAS (Scientific Council
"Cybernetics", RAS, Moscow, Russian Federation), zhur@ccas.ru.

3. The scientific program will include contributed as well as
invited papers. The program of the workshop will also include a
meeting of the Technical Committee No. 16 of the International
Association for Pattern Recognition "Algebraic and Discrete
Mathematics Techniques in Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis". For
MAIN TOPICS OF INTEREST see Call for Participation.

4. Two versions of OGRW-6-2003 Proceedings will be published:
1) extended Abstracts will be distributed at the workshop;
2) OGRW-6-2003 Proceedings - full papers (in English) - special issue
of the international journal "Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis"
(MAIK "Nauka (International Academic Publishing Concern
"Science")/Interperiodica" Publishing, Moscow) - will be prepared and
published after the workshop (PRIA, 2004, V. 14, No. 2).
