Call for Participation Sixth International Conference on Multimodal Interfaces (ICMI'04) www.icmiplace.org Sponsored by ACM October 14-15, 2004 The Sixth International Conference on Multimodal Interfaces will be held October 14-15, 2004 at the Atherton Hotel and the Penn State School of Information Sciences Technology. The ACM sponsored conference, will present advances and emerging research directions in next-generation perceptive, adaptive and multimodal user interfaces. These technologies are transforming the nature of human-computer interaction by creating more natural, expressively powerful, flexible and robust means of interacting. The two-day conference will bring together academia, industry and government agencies to present and discuss the latest multidisciplinary work. A single-track program will offer high quality oral and poster presentations, research demos and industry exhibits. ICMI'04 topics address multimodal input and output interfaces that use vision, natural language, gestures, gaze, and haptics; advances in multimodal fusion and multisensory integration; multimodal applications for wearable, mobile, collaborative, affective, conversational, and universal access systems; systems infrastructure, architecture and evaluation. The program also includes keynote speakers, a panel on infrastructure for multimodal interfaces research, and a Doctoral Spotlight session.
