First Announcement and Call for Papers -------------------------------------- Joint Workshop of ISPRS and DAGM 'Object Extraction for 3D City Models, Road Databases and Traffic Monitoring - Concepts, Algorithms, and Evaluation' (CMRT05) Vienna, Austria August 29-30, 2005 http://www.gmat.unsw.edu.au/wgiii4/ws05 Scope: ------ Automated extraction of topographic objects from remotely sensed data is an important topic of research in both Photogrammetry and Computer Vision. This joint workshop of the ISPRS and the German Association of Pattern Recognition (DAGM), held at Vienna University of Technology, discuss recent developments, the potential of various data sources, and future trends both with respect to sensors and processing techniques in automatic object extraction. Workshop topics: ---------------- - Building and road extraction from aerial and space-borne images - Building and road extraction from LIDAR and SAR - Updating of existing 3D city models and road data bases - Detection and velocity estimation of vehicles from remote sensing data - Methods for micro- and macro-scale traffic monitoring - Detection and modelling of vegetation classes and single trees - Level-of-detail modelling of topographic objects - Data fusion for automatic object extraction - Integration of terrestrial images and laserscanner data for city modelling - Quality assessment of automatically extracted topographic objects Organised by: ------------- - ISPRS WG III/4 'Image interpretation for city modelling' - ISPRS WG III/5 'Road extraction and traffic monitoring' - Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Vienna University of Technology - Institute of Photogrammetry and Cartography, Technical University of Munich Conference Chairs: ------------------ Franz Rottensteiner (University of New South Wales) Uwe Stilla (Technical University of Munich) Programme committee: -------------------- Wolfgang Förstner, University of Bonn, Germany Norbert Haala, University of Stuttgart, Germany Stefan Hinz, Technical University of Munich, Germany Helmut Mayer, Bundeswehr University Munich, Germany Theo Moons, Catholic University of Brussels, Belgium Franz Rottensteiner, University of New South Wales, Australia Uwe Stilla, Technical University of Munich, Germany Chunsun Zhang, CRC-SI, Melbourne, Australia Paper Submission: ----------------- High-quality papers covering one or more of the above topics should be e-mailed as PDF files to one of the conference chairmen. Deadline for the submission of full papers is April 15, 2005. The papers should be prepared according to the ISPRS guidelines for pre- paring manuscripts (http://www.isprs.org/documents/orangebook/app5.html) and should not exceed 6 pages in length. All papers will be submitted to a double blind peer review process. The proceedings will appear as a Volume of the International Archives of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and the Spatial Information Sciences. Provided acceptance by the referees, the camera-ready papers have to be submitted in PDF format by 1 July, 2005. Authors have to be registered before July 1 to warrant publication of their paper in the proceedings. Important dates: ---------------- - Submission of full papers April 15, 2005 - Notification of authors June 1, 2005 - Submission of camera ready manuscripts July 1, 2005 - Early registration deadline July 1, 2005 Registration: ------------- The registration fee will to be announced soon. Authors must register before July 1, 2005, to warrant publication of their paper in the proceedings. A registration form will be provided. Visit the WWW site of the workshop for details.
