*CALL FOR PAPERS* Special Issue on Haptics, Virtual and Augmented Reality IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) November/December Issue of 2005 IEEE Transaction on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) seeks original manuscripts for a Special Issue on Haptics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, scheduled to appear in the* November/December issue of 2005.* The emerging fields of Haptics, Virtual and Augmented Reality are beginning to alter our interaction with, expectations from, and use of computers. No longer does graphics suffice, and the modalities that are added (such as body motion tracking, haptic feedback, 3-D sound, etc) dramatically increase our communication bandwidth with computers. The very important human factors issues related to these real-time multi-sensorial interactions are only now beginning to be addressed. The applications of Haptics, Virtual and Augmented Reality in major fields of Science, Engineering, Medicine and Economics in general are emerging at an accelerated pace. The topics of interest for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to: q *Force feedback system design* *q Realistic haptic rendering* *q Virtual and mixed reality systems* *q Distributed/collaborative haptics/virtual/augmented environments* *q Teleimmersion, telepresence, and telexistence* *q Ubiquitous and wearable systems for VR/AR* *q Authoring and interaction tools* *q Perception and cognition related issues* *q Applications of haptics, virtual and augmented reality* Papers for this special issue will be chosen from the submissions whether they are unpublished results or those previously included in conference publications. The submissions that are revised or extended versions of previous conference publications should contain /at least/ 30% new material. Copies of any previous published work affiliated with the new submission must also be included as supportive documentation upon submission. Prospective authors can access our complete submission guidelines by clicking on http://computer.org/tvcg/author_new.htm Please submit your manuscript for this special issue of TVCG to Manuscript Central at http://cs-ieee.manuscriptcentral.com/.
