IEEE International workshop on Machine Vision for Intelligent Vehicles (MVIV'05) in Conjunction with IEEE conference on computer vision and pattern recognition (CVPR'05) http://www.cs.unc.edu/~marc/cvpr05/workshops.htm Paper submission deadline: Mar 15 2005. SCOPE Intelligent vehicles will form an integral aspect of the next generation technology of intelligent transportation systems. Vehicles equipped with passive sensing devices like vision sensors will be very effective in providing timely assistance to drivers and avoiding accidents in emergencies. More recently, there has also been a substantial increase in available computing power and high functionality cameras at low cost. This workshop aims to bring together academic and industrial researchers that are interested in building vision-based systems for intelligent vehicles. The organizers hope to foster an environment where both popular existing systems as well as novel approaches to an existing problem and innovative uses of vision sensors towards perceiving automotive environments will be shared and discussed. Emphasis will also be placed on real-time implementations of intelligent systems. A panel session would then present and discuss their view of the future of this area. Papers in the main technical program must describe high-quality, original, unpublished research. Topics of interest include all aspects of computer vision and pattern recognition applied to the automotive domain including, but not limited to, the following areas: Driver Assistance Systems, Automated Vehicles, Active and Passive Safety Systems, Information Fusion, Traffic Flow Monitoring, Integrated Safety Systems, Collision Avoidance, Vehicle Environment Perception, Driver Monitoring, Others. IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submission deadline March 15, 2005 Notification of acceptance April 15, 2005 amera-ready manuscript due for proceedings April 22, 2005 ALL SUBMISSION DATES ARE FIRM. NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE GIVEN. All submissions will be handled electronically. Submission instructions will be posted on the conference website in due course. In submitting a manuscript to the workshop, authors acknowledge that no paper of substantially similar content has been or will be submitted to another conference or workshop during the review period.
