CVPRIP 2006 will be held in conjunction with 9th Joint Conference on Information Sciences (JCIS 2006, http://www.jcis.org/), Kaohsiung, Taiwan on Oct. 8-11, 2006 IMPORTANT DATES Submission deadline: Apr. 15, 2006 Notification: Jun. 10, 2006 Camera ready: Jul. 15, 2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- PAPER SUBMISSION: Submissions from both academia and industry are encouraged. Research papers, case studies, lessons learned, status reports, demonstration, and discussions of practical problems faced by industry and user domains are all welcome submissions. SPECIAL SESSIONS: Special sessions are being considered for CVPRIP 2006 to supplement the regular program. The sessions are expected to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art in a given area and highlight important research directions in a field of special interest to CVPRIP, while the regular sessions are expected to gather members of academia and industry to present their views on a particular topic and participate in an interactive Q&A with the audience. Special sessions should be comprised of 5 invited papers or above. It is encouraged that the session begins with an overview paper on the topic being addressed and remaining papers follow up with technical contributions on the topic. The following information should be included in the proposal: *Title of the proposed Oral session *Names/affiliation of organizers (including brief bio and contact info) *Session abstract (state significance of topic and rationale for proposed session) *List of invited presenters, tentative titles and 1000-word abstracts for each paper DEMONSTRATION SESSIONS: The goal of the session is to allow researchers to demonstrate image algorithms in operation and to present the underlying principles in a manner not possible in a technical talk or a poster session alone. Please provide the following information for submission: 1. Title 2. List of Authors 3. Contact information (name, e-mail) 4. A brief description of your demonstration, ideally a preprint of a poster explaining the demo. 5. (optional) Video clips (MPEG) that support your proposal by providing a web link where to download the material.
