The 1st International Workshop on Computer Vision for Intravascular Imaging October 6, 2006 Copenhagen, Denmark http://www.scr.siemens.com/cvii/ Technological advances in intravascular imaging offer increasingly useful information regarding vascular anatomy and function and are poised to have dramatic impact on the diagnosis, analysis, modeling, and treatment of vascular diseases. Computer vision techniques designed to analyze intravascular images for anatomic modeling, simulation, visualization, tissue classification, and the assessment of interventional procedures are therefore playing a role of increased importance and are currently receiving significant interest. The workshop aims at bringing together researchers in the field of intravascular imaging and present state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision and image processing of intravascular images. Workshop Organizers: Stephane Carlier (Columbia University-CRF), Ioannis Kakadiaris (University of Houston), Greg Slabaugh (Siemens Corporate Research), Allen Tannenbaum (Georgia Institute of Technology), Gozde Unal (Siemens Corporate Research) Program Committee: Ergin Atalar (Johns Hopkins University), Guy Cloutier (University of Montreal), Jouke Dijkstra (Leiden University), Jon Klingensmith (Volcano Therapeutics), Petia Radeva (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona), J.H.C. Reiber (Leiden University), Milan Sonka (University of Iowa) Relevant topics for the workshop include (but not limited to): -- Atherosclerotic plaque image analysis and characterization -- Quantification of vascular morphology and function -- Tissue classification of intravascular images -- Computer-aided diagnosis of vascular disease -- Segmentation and anatomic modeling from IVUS, OCT, IVMR, etc. -- Image-based biomechanical models of vascular anatomy and function -- Registration of intravascular images -- Image processing methods for intravascular contrast agent applications -- Hemodynamic image-based modeling -- Percutaneous imaging/intervention, including IVUS, OCT and IVMR There will be two keynote speeches by Dr. Milan Sonka, and Dr. Stephane Carlier. The workshop proceedings will be published in conjunction with the MICCAI conference. In addition, we received a positive feedback from a relevant journal for a special issue publication. The submission deadline is May 15, 2006. Double submissions with the MICCAI conference are allowed. See Call for Papers at http://www.scr.siemens.com/cvii/CVII_MICCAI_2006_CFP.pdf
