CALL FOR PAPERS Special Track on OBJECT RECOGNITION INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON VISUAL COMPUTING 2007 (ISVC07) http://www.isvc.net Rationale --------- Recognizing objects is one of the most useful tasks in vision. While this ability comes naturally to humans, due to the significant variations exhibited by real-world images, this task continues to be particularly challenging for computer vision. Not even the most advanced systems can handle the full range of partial occlusions, viewpoint and illumination changes, cluttered backgrounds, and intra-category appearance. In this special track, we are soliciting papers that extend existing methodologies or introduce new techniques for object recognition. Topics Topics of interest include all aspects of object recognition including, but not limited to, the following areas: Object recognition using local features, Graphical models for object, recognition, Hierarchical object representations, Statistical learning methods for object recognition, Semantic knowledge integration, Biologically motivated approaches, Object segmentation. Submission/Proceedings ---------------------- This is an open call-for-papers. Only original, high-quality papers, in-line with the ISVC'07 standard guidelines (http://www.isvc.net/author.html), will be considered for publication in this special track. Prospective authors should submit electronically their contributions through the website of ISVC'07. Accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings which will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
