*********************************************************************** AMDIT 2008 (http://aria.asu.edu/amdit08) 1st International Workshop on Ambient Media Delivery and Interactive Television in conjunction with Ambi-Sys 08 (http://ambi-sys.org/) Quebec City, Canada February 11-14 2008 TECHNICAL SPONSOR: ACM SIGCHI IMPORTANT DATES: Paper Submission: September 30, 2007 Author Notification: November 15, 2007 Camera Ready Due: December 15, 2007 The International Workshop on Ambient Media Delivery and Interactive Television aims at fostering interdisciplinary discussions and research in all aspects related to the data management challenges associated with the design of ambient media delivery and user aware interactive television systems. Through new interactive features, television is becoming a central hub for entertainment, communication, and sharing. Instead of old, push-based broadcasting to set-top-boxes, new pull-based, interactive services and tighter integration with other audio/visual entertainment devices enable ambient access to tv programming. AMDIT-08 workshop focuses on the data management challenges associated with the design of ambient media delivery and user aware interactive television systems, to make television programmes available and easily accessible in multiple contexts, through diverse media devices. Papers focusing on data information extraction and storage, classification, and recommendation are specifically encouraged. Topics of interest include but are not limited to ** Video content extraction and description ** Content indexing and storage ** Clustering , classification and genre recognition ** User modelling, personalization and adaptive user interfaces techniques ** Tagging and recommendation ** Cross media integration with the focus on audiovisual media and television programmes. In addition to being published along with the Ambi-sys08 proceedings, the workshop proceedings will be included in the ACM Digital Library.
