___________________________________________________________ Mini-Symposium on Computational Bioimaging and Visualization Within the WCCM8 & ECCOMAS 2008 International Conference (http://www.iacm-eccomascongress2008.org ) Venice, Italy, 30 June - 5 July 2008 ___________________________________________________________ Dear Colleague, The use of computational procedures based on medical images to model and visualize represented objects requires a high level of research investment, due mainly to the strong demands of clinical partners. These procedures can have different goals, such as shape reconstruction and visualization, segmentation, motion and deformation analyses, registration, simulation, etc. The main goal of this Mini- symposium is to promote the debate between researchers involved in the related fields (Bio-medical Image Acquisition, Analysis and Processing; Multi-scale Shape and Motion Reconstruction; Multi-scale Modeling and Analysis; Scientific Visualization, Bio-medical Software Libraries, Environments; etc.), in order to set the major lines of developments for the near future. Mini-symposium Organizers: Joćo Manuel R.S. Tavares (tavares@fe.up.pt, FEUP, Porto Portugal) Renato Natal Jorge (rnatal@fe.up.pt, FEUP, Porto, Portugal) Thomas J.R.
