Short courses and tutorials will take place on October 12, 2008, at the same venue as ECCV, the Palais des Congrès Parc Chanot. They aim to address a specific topic in computer vision and are supposed to provide a comprehensive overview of the topic. The audience is mostly graduate students. Review process: Tutorial proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their estimated benefit for our community and on their fit within the tutorials program as a whole. Factors to be considered include: relevance, timeliness, importance, and audience appeal; suitability for presentation in a half-day or day format; and past experience and qualifications of the instructors. Selection is also based on the overall distribution of topics, expected attendance, and specialties of the intended audiences. =================================================================================
