*** CALL FOR PAPERS *** 1st Intl. Workshop on Multimedia Analysis of User Behaviour and Interactions (MAUBI) held in conjunction with the IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia (ISM2008) Berkeley, California, on Dec. 15-17, 2008. http://www.lifl.fr/~martinej/ISM2008workshop/cfp.html ** July 15, 2008: Electronic paper submission deadline ** September 8, 2008: Notification of paper acceptance ** September 19, 2008: Camera ready version submission deadline The workshop aims at bringing together researchers who investigate and develop techniques to analyze multimedia data for understanding users actions, behaviour, and interactions with others or with their environment, in the context of real applications such as security, marketing, and Web TV. The scope of study includes, but is not limited to: * motion detection, * foreground/background categorization, * human detection, tracking, and matching, * trajectory analysis, * specific event detection (e.g. door opening, person collapsing, crowd panic, etc.), * etc. Besides, the workshop aims at investigating the legal and ethical requirements necessary to design systems and applications. We encourage submissions of papers that deal with the social acceptability of these ambient intelligence technologies (multi-modal behaviour capture). The social study would guarantee the success of the multimodal interfaces and their implementations. The workshop is interested in how to formulate recommendations that will be presented to the policy makers (private and public). Organizers * Jean Martinet, University of Lille, France * Nacim Ihaddadene, University of Lille, France * Hideo Joho, University of Glasgow, UK
